The big payback

What is community payback?

Unpaid Work is a sentence available to courts. It is intended as a punishment and also as a means by which offenders can make amends to the community for the harm they have caused. The scheme is known as Community Payback.

For victims

Our Victim Contact Scheme provides an important service for victims and their families involved in serious crime. It enables victims to receive information about an offender's progress through the prison system. Find out how we support victims.

For Offenders

We supervise offenders throughout their sentence whether in prison, out on licence or serving a community sentence. We work with offenders to change their attitudes and behaviour, to help them understand the consequences of their behaviour and make amends.
