Double Honours For Margaret
07/01/2010
A probation officer is celebrating after receiving two major honours in the space of a fortnight. Margaret Fairbrother, senior probation officer at Crawley, was awarded the MBE in the Queen's New Year's honours list for her services to the administration of justice in the area.
And just before Christmas she was named as a winner of this year's Butler Trust awards - the profession's highest accolade.
She will receive both awards at Buckingham Palace on two separate occasions this year - the MBE from the Queen or the Prince of Wales and the Butler Trust Award from the Princess Royal.
Sussex Probation chief officer Sonia Crozier said: "Margaret is an outstanding probation officer and a credit to the profession and is a worthy recipient of both magnificent honours."
