Working in Partnership

We work closely with partners in the criminal justice system to protect the public and reduce reoffending.

Probation service partnersOther key partners include the Police, Her Majesty's Courts Service, Crown Prosecution Service, Criminal Justice Boards, Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships, Her Majesty's Prison Service, local authorities, healthcare providers, employment and education agencies, the voluntary and private sectors, victims and communities. We plan how we can work most effectively together to reduce crime and disorder.

Surrey and Sussex Probation Trust has a joint-working approach that is planned and achieved through a range of statutory partnerships and formal contracts with other services and agencies in the statutory and voluntary sectors. For example, we share statutory work with the Police in leading Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) for the management of dangerous offenders within the community.

We have a dedicated Commissioning Unit to develop strategic and professional procurement practices for offender focused services that meet offender needs, reduces re-offending and protects the public.  We are keen to work with a range of partners from the statutory, voluntary and private sector to deliver high quality and value for money services.
