Director of Interventions, Mary D'Arcy

Mary D'ArcyMary has responsibility for managing a range of teams that work with offenders to address the needs associated with their offending as well delivering specific aspects of their sentence. This includes: the delivery of Community Payback; the delivery of groupwork programmes to address offending behavior; interventions to address alcohol and drug misuse as well as enabling offenders to find employment and link them to education providers.

As part of her role Mary has responsibility for the contracts and links with the seven prisons in Surrey and Sussex; HMP Lewes, HMP Highdown, HMP Bronzefield, HMP Coldingly, HMP Ford, HMP Send and HMP Downview.

Director of Public Protection Delivery Unit, Andrea Saunders

andrea saundersThe Public Protection Delivery Unit (PPDU) encompasses four Public Protection Teams (PPTs) across the trust for West Sussex, Brighton & Hove, East Sussex and Surrey, each managed by a senior probation officer. The teams, currently based in nine sites across the trust area, manage those offenders sentenced to life imprisonment, Imprisonment for Public Protection (IPP), and all those under statutory supervision who are convicted of sexual offences and subject to sexual offender registration with the police.

The pan-trust MAPPA team sits within the PPDU to co-ordinate and administer MAPPA across Surrey and Sussex. Also within the PPDU are the two trust approved premises, where offenders assessed as posing a high risk of harm to others and requiring stringent management, supervision and monitoring following their release from custody, are accommodated as part of their resettlement and risk management plan. Our Victim Contact Scheme sits within the PPDU.

Andrea is also the trust's diversity lead in respect of faith.

Brighton and Hove and East Sussex Local Delivery Units Director, Leighe Rogers

Leighe RogersBrighton Local Delivery Unit (LDU) is made up of three teams all based at Lancaster House in Grand Parade, Brighton. East Sussex LDU Unit has offices in Hastings and Eastbourne. In each case locality-based senior probation officers have operational responsibility for staff who deliver court and breach services, integrated offender management teams and offender management Teams. Leighe is also the trust's diversity lead in respect of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues.

West Sussex Local Delivery Unit Director, Jane Browne

Jane BrowneThe delivery unit is comprised of three teams in Crawley, Worthing and Chichester and one West Sussex Courts Team (responsible for delivering services to magistrates and crown courts). On each of the three sites, there are offender management and integrated offender management teams. Jane is also the trust's diversity lead in respect of women.

Surrey Local Delivery Unit Director, Lin Pedrick.

Lin PedrickSurrey has three operational units delivering offender management in Staines, Redhill and Guildford; three integrated offender management units currently based in Staines, Redhill and Guildford Police Stations and a county-wide court team delivering services to Guildford Crown Court and Staines, Redhill, Guildford and Woking Magistrates Courts. Lin is based at the
administrative office in Godalming. Lin is also the trust's diversity lead in respect of race.

Directors of Human Resources, Elspeth Hayde and Judith Berrill

Elspeth HaydeJudith BerrillThe Human Resources department is structured to include a HR services team, HR business partners, a learning and professional development team and a health and safety advisory service. The HR services team manages recruitment, payroll and management information. The HR business partners work closely with directors on workforce planning,managing change and employee relations cases.

SSPT supports staff in gaining vocational qualifications and has cohorts who are working towards the probation officer qualification.

The health and safety advisors give a proactive support service to staff and managers. Elspeth is also the trust's diversity lead in respect of employer responsibilities and disability.

Director of Finance, ICT and Estates, Paul Cook

Paul cookThe finance team is responsible for ensuring that budgets are established and monitored for each year and works closely with directors to ensure these are incorporated into workforce and workload planning. Over a five year period from 2009-10 to 2014-15 SSPT is expected to experience a £6.9m (23%) budgetary decrease taking into account inflation. The budget will be subject to some £3.8m (13.1%) in reductions over the period 2009-12, which is a significant challenge for the trust.  A clear strategy has been put in place to manage this.

The ICT team is responsible for all the data and information that is stored by the trust and for ensuring that information assurance guidelines are followed. The service desk receives over 8,000 calls every year and in addition the team have to work with Ministry of Justice ICT on national projects such as a new case management system and moving to National Data Centres, both of which are expected to occur in 2011/12 and require significant training of staff as well as impacting on current processes and procedures.

Corporate services are responsible for maintaining and developing the 23 different sites that SSPT operates over. This can range from routine maintenance work to full refurbishments and office moves of which there has been more of in the past year. The team are also responsible for reception areas at each site and managing visitors and offenders through the buildings. In addition the team is responsible for several corporate processes such as recalls and serious further offence reports and do the work of co-ordinating those across the Trust.

Paul also co-ordinates the work of internal and external audit and the implementation of the risk management strategy and balanced scorecard, all of which are reported to the audit committee on a regular basis.
